After winning a design tender the outerspace team worked with architectural bathroom product retailer, Rogerseller, to design a premium tapware range. The managing director wanted to develop a range that would represent the exclusive Rogerseller brand.

We managed the product design and development of the tapware from early trend analysis, through to packaging design for the range.
We designed and engineered the Profilo tapware range to reflect Rogerseller’s high-profile position as the preferred supplier of luxury bathroom fittings to architects and developers.
Profilo is a refined and minimally styled tapware range.
Our designers researched and analyzed bathroom trends, architect preferences, materials and tapware formats and systems to inform early concept and design development. We looked for the best directions to take the design.

We sketched, illustrated, created block models and built mock ups to develop the forms for the taps and spouts.
We developed two tap designs for Profilo, the tri and bloc series.
We engineered the tapware range so the ceramic tap cartridges are positioned below a bathroom benchtop. This makes Profilo a very low profile tap range and accentuates its minimal styling.
We used 3D prototyping to assess and refine the proportions.
We collaborated with a third-party tapware manufacturer and engineered the range, managed and supervised tooling and pre-production to pilot production. We detailed and engineered all components.
Profilo tap handles are built from custom brass alloy extrusions to achieve the perfect form profile.
We specified all fabrication details for brazing, machining, polishing and plating to meet the quality standards required for the Rogerseller range and brand.
We worked closely with the plating manufacturer to make sure the geometry of the visible components – the taps and spouts – are accentuated with the highest quality chrome finish, optimized for premium quality manufacturability.
Our team designed the packaging for Profilo. A premium presentation box for a premium product, was created to differentiate the range from other tapware products Rogerseller sells. The packaging also protects the tapware during transport and storage.
